Day Four

As a Volunteer I have heard many stories from victims of sex trafficking if you'd like to read some you can go to The Polaris website and read many true stories such as Sarah's. They are just like you and I, they aren't asking to be victimized but it happened and sadly there was nothing I could do. By blogging about this tragic situation I hope someone out there will be willing to step in and intervene. Maybe it's just by telling the police, but if you do that I can almost guarantee you will save her life.

Until tomorrow,

Don't take today for granted because there is someone out there that is barely getting by today if that.

Day Three

I've been off for a while and I'm not sure what to talk about. if anyone has suggestions please feel free to let me know and I will do everything I can to answer any questions you may have about sex trafficking.

Fact:
Globally, the International Labor Organization estimates that there are 4.5 million people trapped in forced sexual exploitation globally.

Until tomorrow.

Day Two

According to Polaris, in 2013, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children estimated that 1 in 7 endangered runaways reported to them were likely sex trafficking victims. That means in every classroom around 4 kids would be in danger.

Think about it, what if these victims were your children, your siblings, your friends. What would you do? would you sit there and ignore the signs or get educated and get them help? Don't ignore the signs of victimizing there are a few subtle hints.

1) They don't like being touched, especially by males

2) Have unexplainable bruises or pains

3) Extreme weight loss

4) Distance from people they were once very close to

The best thing you can do is educate yourself, not just for your sake but for those around you as well.

Daily Post

I pledge from today on, I will post at least once a day in order to spread awareness about sex trafficking. If you have any questions feel free to comment and I will respond ASAP.

Don't be afraid to speak up. Tell someone if you see or suspect anything suspicious, but be careful. Don't take the situation into your own hands, let the police handle the confrontation.
